The term veteran is used on this website to refer to any current or former service member in any branch of military service. When veterans interact in society they are asked many questions by curious civilians who have the privilege of never having been in service or in war. Whether the question is posed in casual, fleeting conversation, or during a personal discussion, the answers can often be difficult to come by, and many times, not what the veteran would want to share about their experience. Very often veterans are put in this position of answering questions. inFORMATION encourages veterans to use creative expression to speak on their terms.

By painting onto a camouflage military uniform, the service member and participant reveals a previously encoded aspect of their experience that otherwise would not have been seen by the public. It's as if the paint is dissolving the camouflage and creating a transparent window into this personal revelation of the service member.

We conduct painting workshops that are group specific including workshops for:

Current Service Members
All Veterans (Currently and not currently serving)
Veterans and Family Members together
Military Sexual Trauma Survivors - Male
Military Sexual Trauma Survivors - Female
Women Veterans
Combat Veterans

If you are interested in participating in, or hosting a veteran group workshop please contact us.
Workshops can be tailored specifically for your group or event.

If you can't make it to a workshop, you can participate from home! contact us

Also, we can always use donations of uniform blouses (jackets, cammies, fatigues, etc.) such as the Army ACU's, DCU's, and BDU's,
as well as the Navy, Marines and Air Force equivalents. Please visit our contact page for mailing address.

Military Spouses & Children

If you are the spouse or child of a military service member or veteran, you are serving too and we honnor that.

Family members have the opportunity to share their connection to and experience in the military by painting onto a camouflage quilting square. These squares are sewn into garment bags which protect the uniforms as they travel in exhibition and serve as a symbolic gesture and ever growing web of support for our troops and veterans.

If you are interested in participating please contact us.

Civlilians Participate

There are far too many indicators that something in our society today is not working for our military and veterans as we are seeing record numbers of military and veteran suicides, homelessness, and a very large civilian-military gap.

Now you have the opportunity to take action by sharing your connection to (or apart from) those who serve and show your support for our troops and veterans by painting onto a quilting square. These squares are sewn into garment bags which protect the uniforms as they travel in exhibition and serve as a symbolic gesture and ever growing web of support for our troops and veterans.

If you are interested in participating please contact us.
